Grace to Pace: Learning to Let God Set the Rhythm

Welcome to the Defining You blog! This is a big step for me—sharing my heart in a way that feels both vulnerable and exciting. Writing has always been something I’ve felt called to, but stepping into it fully is a whole new level of trust. So here goes nothing.

I’ve been on a journey lately—a journey of accepting grace and embracing the pace God has set for me. If I’m honest, the last few years have been filled with transitions, challenges, and big life changes. At times, it’s felt like I’m racing against time, constantly trying to “catch up” or “do it all.” But I’m realizing something powerful: grace isn’t just a gift—it’s permission. Permission to slow down. Permission to trust. Permission to let God lead.

For someone like me—a high achiever who spent years thriving in a metric-driven corporate world—this shift isn’t easy. It’s a culture shock, to say the least. But I’m learning that I don’t have to have all the answers. I don’t need to figure it all out today or carry the weight of every question. I just need to trust God’s timing and take the next step.

What Grace Looks Like in Real Time

Here’s the real deal: giving myself grace doesn’t mean I’m not scared. It doesn’t mean I don’t struggle with control or feel the urge to overachieve. But it does mean I can lean into peace—peace in knowing that I don’t have to do this life alone. God is with me every step of the way, guiding me, teaching me, and showing me how to walk at His pace instead of my own.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress. And let me tell you, the way my nervous system has been thanking me for slowing down? That’s enough to keep me going.

A New Chapter

So, this is where I am right now: pacing my way toward learning His way. It’s not always easy, and it’s definitely not always comfortable. But the peace of not being in control is worth it. My hope is that as I share pieces of this journey with you, you’ll feel encouraged to embrace grace in your own life too.

If you’re in a season where you feel like you’re racing against the clock or trying to juggle it all, I see you. And I want you to know—it’s okay to slow down. It’s okay to rest. And it’s okay to let grace set the pace.

Thank you for taking the time to peek into my heart. My prayer is that this space becomes a place of encouragement, inspiration, and connection for anyone who visits.

If this resonates with you and you’re ready to embrace the pace that God has for you, explore our collection of inspiration-filled apparel at Defining You. Let’s walk this journey together and inspire others along the way!

With grace,

Rhuneisha
