Victorious: Recognizing the Fighter Within

It’s Friday, and y’all, I am feeling victorious! Let me be real—this week came for me like a one-two punch. Life tried it. But guess what? Your girl punched, kicked, and, yes, even bit back. (Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!)

Here’s the thing: every fight isn’t just about surviving—it’s about revealing what’s already inside of you. And this week reminded me that I’m not just a fighter; I’m a giant in the spirit. The kind of giant that doesn’t back down but stands up, dusts off, and goes harder.

Now, full transparency: earlier this week, I got deceived for a moment. I let my frustration turn toward my husband when I should’ve turned it toward the problem we were facing together. Instead of partnering with him to fight the real enemy, I got caught up in my emotions. But God, being God, convicted me before the day was over, and we got to a better place. (And I want to take a moment to thank Him for that. He’s so faithful!)

But you know what? That fiery passion I felt—the anger, the fight—it reminded me that God has equipped me with power. I just need to aim it in the right direction.

This week, God brought Paul’s story (formerly Saul) to mind. You know Saul—persecutor of Christians, zealous in his mission to shut down the early church. He did his job well. He was bold, confident, and relentless. He had authority, a mission, and the full resources of his overseers. But he was working for the wrong plan.

Then came the Damascus Road. Saul had a supernatural encounter with Jesus that literally blinded him and flipped his life upside down. He thought he had it all figured out, but Jesus gave him a bigger picture, a greater purpose. That fire, boldness, and authority Saul carried didn’t go away. It just got redirected. He became Paul, and he went on to write two-thirds of the New Testament! God used everything Saul was—all his confidence, his authority, and his relentlessness—and aligned it with His divine plan.

And that’s where I’m at right now—recognizing the fire in me and making sure it’s working with God, not against Him.

This week, Luke 10:19 hit me differently:

“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”

Listen, that’s a game-changer! God has given me—and you—authority. Authority over every trick, scheme, and disruption the enemy tries to throw our way. But here’s the thing: having power and not using it? That’s not an option.

Since getting this revelation, I’ve been walking in that authority—canceling every assignment the enemy tries to send my way, shutting down old patterns, and reclaiming the promises over my life, my marriage, and my purpose. The things that used to trip me up don’t have the same grip anymore because now I know my place.

So let me encourage you: get into God’s Word. Even if it’s just a little time each day, His truth has the power to change your life. You’ve got a fighter in you. You’ve got authority in you. And you’ve got a God who will empower you to rise up and trample on anything that comes against you.

So here’s the question: are you ready to take your rightful place? Because I sure am.

Stay bold, stay fiery, and always walk in the truth of who God says you are.

With love and fire,

Rhuneisha
